About Turok 2

Turok 2 was released by Acclaim in Febuary of 1999. Acclaim considered this game to be a failure as far as sales went . They setup servers from the start, but they were far from reliable. They would crash after a few hours and would be useless until they were restarted. The Turok 2 community was started in these servers. I, probably one of the few left playing, actually got a chance to play in servers that could hold 16 people and have very little lag. The best clans in Turok 2 started here. RoH and LL were built during April of '99 when the community was at its strongest. Acclaim soon abondoned its servers and shut them down because they would invest money in a game they considered to be a market failure. When the servers were shutdown, the Turok 2 community continued to play. Through people like Grul and Rookie who setup servers that we could play on. They have kept this community going over the past year. Without them this community would have collapsed very quickly. This community has lasted much longer than I ever thought possible. The game gets weaker everyday. The lag has gotten very bad in most cases. The game is nowhere near what it used to be or could have been. Acclaim had a hit here. A real good game. With a little work, this game could have been something. But they released one patch and havent done much since then. The game is dying a very slow death. Even with the release of newer bigger games, the hardcore gamers keep playing. The people of this community have shown one thing. They will not give up on this game. People come and go through the game, but the few hardcore gamers stay here and play.
